AVANAVA Licensing

Early outline of how AVANAVA intends to share research, concepts, and tools while protecting the commons and enabling responsible commercial use.

AVANAVA develops open research around resonance, coherence, and field-based systems. Our aim is to make core ideas and frameworks accessible to the community, while allowing structured pathways for projects, labs, and companies that wish to build products or services on top of this work.

What follows is a non-final outline of our intended licensing model. Formal license texts will be published as dedicated documents and linked from this page as they are released.

PLANNED LICENSING STRUCTURE

1. Commons / Community Use (Avanava Commons License)

Non-commercial individuals, community projects, and open research groups will be able to use core AVANAVA frameworks and concept releases freely under an Avanava Commons–style license.

This tier is intended for learning, experimentation, and independent research, with a requirement to share derived work under compatible open terms.

Use: personal research, community projects, open academic collaboration.

2. Lab / Startup / Academic Use

For labs, early-stage startups, and academic groups exploring prototypes or proof-of-concepts, AVANAVA plans to offer lightweight agreements that allow more flexible use of the frameworks while keeping the commons protected.

This tier is expected to operate on a low-fee or contribution model, with options for data-sharing or co-authorship where appropriate.

Use: funded research, exploratory prototypes, validation studies.

3. Commercial / Corporate Licensing

Companies wishing to integrate AVANAVA concepts into commercial products, services, or devices will be able to enter into dedicated commercial licenses. These will typically include royalties or annual fees, alongside commons-protection clauses that prevent enclosure of the underlying field.

Specific terms will vary by project and application domain.

Use: production devices, SaaS tools, clinical or industrial applications.
STATUS

The full legal text of the Avanava Commons License and associated commercial agreements is currently in preparation. As each document is finalised, it will be published openly and linked from this page.

Until then, all shared material on this site should be treated as conceptual research only, not as a grant of rights to use the work in commercial products. If you are unsure whether your intended use is permitted, please contact us.
